I couldn't agree more that taking your
TEFL course in another country is a great way to start your adventure and earn
your certification to become a great teacher. They sell it near subway stations. They're not that bad - kinda gritty. It was funny because we were so hungry and in a rush to an event that time that we ate them like peanuts, and there were these foreigners just staring at us in the train. The look on their faces was priceless.

We tried the San Nak Ji/live octopus too!

Re: Three Places Where You Can Teach English Without A Degree

Not so sure about teaching in Spain without a degree, at least for the best schools. Great question! Europe is a really popular TEFL destination so competition can be fierce. The tricky part is that EU citizens can work anywhere in Europe without a visa - for American citizens the best bet is to head to Eastern Europe! Poland would be a great choice! In your job hunt look out for employers that are willing to supply the the relevant paperwork for you :) Helen

Re: 3 Great TEFL Destinations For Instant Employability

So if after I do the China Internship and I want to stay and teach there I must have a Degree to get the Z visa? It really depends
on where you work – whilst I was in Korea I found that private academies
tended to have a more formal curriculum to follow whereas public
schools give you a concept and tend to let you lesson plan yourself.
However, this isn’t always the case and in some academies you’ll be
doing a lot of the lesson planning too! As there are no ‘Sundays’ as
such, many Koreans (and foreigners) go out in to the country or hike in
the local mountains for some peace and quiet!

Re: From Condoms to Comfy Shoes : 6 Must-Packs for a Teaching Abroad Adventure

I'm sure you have thought of this but just ask someone from back home to send you a few or look on the internet or e bay

Re: How To Write An Incredible TEFL CV

Hi Elizabeth! Part of this time as a corporate trainer. I'm ready for a change and decided to pursue a TELF cert. I am just about finished finished with online courses 120 hours. I'm wondering how I should set up my CV. I really want to work with children but all experience I have in that is from 20 years ago when I used to teach swim lesson and camp counselor. Is that past experience still relevant? Of should I just go for teaching business English to adults?

Re: From Condoms to Comfy Shoes : 6 Must-Packs for a Teaching Abroad Adventure

Universal adapter is a must have!
